Adjunctive therapy

CONSIDER Beta-blockers IV followed by oral therapy for:

> 65 years


known hypertensive / hypertensive on examination

all missed thrombolysed patients

all patients thrombolysed at > 6 hours

continuing ischaemic chest pain

tachycardia without x-ray evidence of heart failure

CONSIDER ACE inhibitors for

all patients unable to receive Beta-blockers because of CIís

all Q-wave anterior MI without CI at 12 hours

all extensive non-Q wave MI without CI at 12 hours

all patients with clinical signs of heart failure or LVEF < 45%

GIVE nitrates for

continuing pain, evidence of silent ischaemia or acute LVF
