Falling urine output is a sign of renal failure. This may be:

Pre-renal (eg hypovolaemia)

Renal (eg acute tubular necrosis, glomerulonephritis)

Post-renal (eg ureteric stone)


Where the cause is pre-renal following hypovolaemia,
treat for SHOCK

Where any other cause exists, seek expert help early in determining the assessment and management
